Fighting for Human Rights in Syria...from Boston.

Muslim and Christian organizations and individuals were present in the crowd, including a new organization called Syrian Christians for Democracy which brought a Christmas tree hauntingly decorated with images of people killed during the Syrian revolution.

The central point of the rally, however, was the large Syrian revolutionary flag, held by at least 20 people, which was used both as a symbol, but also to punctuate to the chants from the crowd as they sought the catch the attention of the public to the plight of their friends and family in Syria.

With pressure increasing on the Assad regime to stop the violent crackdown in Syria, demonstrations like this are becoming more commonplace... and more effective. If the fight for human rights in Syria is to succeed, however, the international body will need to do more than just rally.
